By car:
Ferries from Plymouth, Portsmouth, Newhaven or Dover.
Travel through France direction Paris, Lyon, Marseilles, Montpellier, all the way to the French-Spanish border at le Perthus on motorway A9/E15. Use Mappy to find your route and the speed radars.
In Spain take exit 5 and follow the signs to l'Escala. Just before l'Escala, turn left in the direction of St.Martí d'Empúries. Take the 2nd dirt track on the right and you will get to the house.
By train:
Check the SNCF website to plan the trip to Figueres, 20 km from the house.
By air:
Girona Airport: 40km from the house - Ryanair flies from London Luton, London Stansted, Bournemouth, Bristol, Birmingham, Shannon, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, East Midlands to Barcelona (Girona).
Perpignan Airport: 50km form the house - Flybe flies from Southampton and bmibaby flies from Manchester.
Barcelona Airport: 100km from the house - Easyjet, British Airways, Iberia.
Car rental:
Worth hiring a car from whichever airport you land at to have more freedom to explore the region. All major companies have offices there(Avis, Europcar, Hertz), but try also local companies, usually cheaper (Aurigacrown, Solmar).
